Brief History
Moreland's Cavalry Battalion was organized with seven companies on 1 August 1863. Additional companies were added on 30 January (Co. "I") and 1 February 1864 (Co. "H"). Increased to a regiment and designated as Moreland's Cavalry Regiment prior to 10 June 1864.
