Officially reorganized by the War Department and designated as the 4th Infantry Regiment Reserves on February 27, 1865, per S.O. #48, Adjutant and Inspector General's Office.
Disbanded by Brig. Gen. John Echols, commanding the Department of Southwestern Virginia and East Tennessee, at Christianburg, Virginia on April 12, 1865.
