Organized for one year in Henrico County on July 8, 1861.
Intended to form part of the 4th Artillery Regiment, which failed to complete its organization.
Reorganized on April 28, 1862.
Armed with two 3-inch Rifles and two 12-lb. Napoleons in August and September 1862.
Manchester Light Artillery Battery transferred to this battery on September 1, 1862, by order of Maj. Gen. Thomas J. Jackson.
Order confirmed on April 15, 1863, per S.O. #92, Adjutant and Inspector General's Office.
Armed with four 3-inch Rifles on July 1-3, 1863.
It apparently was consolidated with other batteries of Cutshaw's Artillery Battalion some time in late 1864.
