Organized for three years or the war in Pittsylvania County on April 3, 1862.
Intended to be assigned to the 1st (Fitzgerald's) Confederate Artillery Regiment, which failed to complete its organization.
Armed with two 3-inch Rifles and two 10-lb. Parrotts in September 1862.
Armed with two 3-inch Rifles and two 12-lb. Parrotts on July 1-3, 1863.
Armed with two 3-inch Rifles and two 10-lb. Parrotts on December 28, 1864.
Surrendered at Appomattox Court House on April 9, 1865.
*NOTE: This battery is alleged to have fired the last artillery round of the Army of Northern Virginia*
