Organized for the war on March 5, 1862.
Originally intended to form part of the 1st (Fitzgerald's) Confederate artillery Regiment, which failed to complete its organization.
Then assigned to Harris' Heavy Artillery Battalion, which also failed to complete its organization.
Battery disbanded with men transferred to Company D, 18th Artillery Battalion, and Company D, 20th Artillery Battalion, on June 21, 1862, per S.O. #143, Adjutant and Inspector Genral's Office.
Does not appear in the Official Records.
