See 2nd Mississippi State Cavalry (Smith’s/Lowry’s), in which unit Street’s company became Co. A ("Citizen Guards," of Tippah County, MS). See also Gholson’s Independent Cavalry Brigade.

Como, Miss., January 25, 1864.
I. The troops of this command will be organized as follows:
First Brigade, Brig. Gen. R. V. Richardson, commanding: Twelfth Tennessee Regiment, Marshall's regiment, Bennett's battalion, Fifteenth Tennessee Regiment, Street's battalion, Collins' command, Fourteenth Tennessee Regiment, Sixteenth Tennessee Regiment.
Second Brigade, Col. Robert McCulloch, commanding: Second Missouri Regiment, Willis' (Texas) battalion, Faulkner's (Kentucky) regiment, Chalmers' battalion, Kizer's battalion, Second Arkansas Cavalry, Franklin's battalion.
Third Brigade, Col. T. H. Bell, commanding,: Russell's regiment, Greer's regiment, Newsom's regiment, Barteau's regiment, Wilson's regiment.
Fourth Brigade, Col. J. E. Forrest, commanding: Forrest's regiment, Duckworth's regiment, Fifth Mississippi Regiment, McGuirk's regiment, Duff's battalion.
II. The Second and Fourth Brigades will be organized into a division, to be known and designated as the First Division, Forrest's Cavalry Department, under the command of Brig. Gen. J. R. Chalmers.

LA GRANGE, March 25, 1863.
Major-General HURLBUT:
Information just received from General Brayman, at Bolivar, says:
Thirteen guerrillas just arrived. Sent in by Colonel Hurst at Pocahontas. They left last night. No re-enforcements had then arrived. Fifteen more prisoners sent to Bethel. Our loss, 1 private killed. Colonel Miller, of the rebel forces, killed. Sol. [G.] Street said to be desperately wounded. No danger.

POCAHONTAS, TENN., June 9, 1863.
SIR: I have to report that, in accordance with orders from the headquarters of this brigade, I left the camp of this regiment at 8 a.m. of the 8th instant, with six companies of my command, and after reporting at brigade headquarters was joined with 30 men, in charge of a lieutenant from the Engineer Regiment, with 10 wagons. I moved to a point about 7 miles from Ripley, Miss., and returned, bringing in 10 wagons loaded with forage, 4 mules, 2 horses, 97 sheep, and 38 head of cattle, which were turned over to the post quartermaster on my arrival here at this post.
From information received, I do not believe that there is any force near Ripley, except [W. C.] Falkner's regiment, which I believe is scattered in the Hatchie hills. There are some men below Ripley belonging to Chalmers' command, who are a few miles distant from Ripley, though not in strong force.
On my return from near Ripley, I was followed by Sol. [G.] Street, with between 20 and 30 men, who followed us to within 5 miles south of this place, but whenever a party was sent in pursuit they would take refuge in the woods adjoining.
I am of opinion that there is no force of any consequence within 40 miles of this post.

UNION CITY, November 20, 1863.
I have just received the following from Capt. F. Moore, whom I sent after the rebels, who went to Hickman. "We came, we saw, we conquered."
NOVEMBER 20, 1863.
Colonel WARING,
Commanding, Union City:
I attacked the devils at Meriwether's Ferry, at noon, yesterday. I whipped them and killed 11 men, and took Colonel Sol. G. Street and 55 men: also one wagon-load of arms and some horses. My loss none, except 1 man wounded.
