Unit History

Organized in early 1862.
Surrendered at Port Hudson, Louisiana on July 8, 1863.
Paroled in late 1864.
Reorganized with the guns of Barlow's (Louisiana) Artillery Battery in October 1864. It was armed with two 3.67" Sawyers and two 9-lb. Napoleans in October 1864.
Surrendered by Lt. Gen. Richard Taylor, commanding Department of Alabama, Mississippi, and East Louisiana, at Citronelle, Alabama on May 4, 1865.
