Unit History

Organized in early 1862.
It was armed with one 24-lb. Howitzer, two 12-lb. Howitzers, two 6-lb. Smoothbores, and two 3" Rifles on May 19, 1863.
Battery surrendered after the Confederate defeat at the Battle of Vicksburg on July 4, 1863.
Paroled at Vicksburg in July 1863
Declared exchanged on September 12, 1863.
Surrendered by Lt. Gen. Richard Taylor, commanding Department of Alabama, Mississippi, and East Louisiana, at Citronelle, Alabama on May 4, 1865.
